Annabel joined the Primary Care Gambling Service in 2020. She has been involved in service development and evaluation to help raise awareness of gambling harms and expand the service. She recognises the importance of collaboration with the third sector and has used her skills to help deliver a safe, holistic service to support and treat those experiencing gambling harms.

Annabel trained as a mental health nurse at University of Leeds in 2014.

Her career started in adult acute services at University Hospital Lewisham. She developed her skills in; risk assessing, care planning, dual diagnosis. She became a basic life support trainer for South London and Maudsley Trust staff due to her interest in teaching and health promotion.

She later became the Deputy Manager Practice Development Nurse on the ward increasing her responsibilities of clinical and managerial work. This role also gave her the opportunity to be part of teaching at the Preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses.

Annabel is now the Lead Nurse for the Primary Care Gambling Service.
