Charlie Storey

Charlie joined the Primary Care Gambling Service in 2025.

She trained as a mental health nurse at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, qualifying in 2021.

Following her studies, Charlie began her career in a community mental health team, where she quickly developed a strong interest in supporting people affected by addiction.

This passion led her to a role within a drug and alcohol service in Hillingdon, where she worked for three years and progressed to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Addictions.

During this time, Charlie completed training in Motivational Interviewing and CBT Essentials for Substance Use. She also played an active role in introducing more person-centred, non-stigmatising language within the service to help reduce the shame and stigma often experienced by people facing addiction.

Charlie uses her knowledge and expertise in substance use to develop holistic treatment plans that address co-occurring addictions. She also provides education to both clients and staff on the harms associated with substance use, evidence-based treatment approaches, and strategies to support recovery.

She is committed to treating every client with unconditional positive regard and believes recovery is possible for anyone.
