Sarah Hargreaves

Sarah joined the Primary Care Gambling Service in 2025. She graduated with a degree in Mental Health Nursing from 2019. 

Sarah’s passion for nursing began in care for older adults and individuals living with dementia. She worked as a deputy manager for an older adult inpatient unit, during this time she championed a Quality Improvement project to enhance care planning and established vital support sessions for caregivers. Her expertise also spans community psychiatric nursing, with a strong focus on risk assessments, suicide prevention, and health promotion. 

Before joining the Primary Care Gambling Service, Sarah worked within the crisis pathway for a Psychiatric Liaison Service based in a general hospital and emergency department. This role sharpened her skills in acute crisis management and deepened her understanding of the complex relationship between physical and mental health. 

A devoted advocate for person-centered care, Sarah is dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding gambling harms and raising public awareness. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, bushcraft and creating art.
